THE DURUTTI COLUMN, Red Shoes + Greetings Three . LP

1986: "Vini Reilly, original and sophisticated guitarist once more entrusts Materiali Sonori with his innovative music. In fact, Red Shoes is now coming out in worldwide exclusive for Materiali Sonori, after the previous success of Dry".

The LP includes eight new recordings (released at the beginning of 1992) amongst which there are five un-issued tracks, a new version of When The World and more sophisticated versions of For Madeleine and For Zinni.Reilly, playing completely solo with his guitar and various electronic arrangements offers a largely homogenous work with new energies and rhythmic inputs at times underly his melencholic and ever-changing musical world.

Vini develops his music journey using fascinating notes for the guitar; steeped in new age of art, minimalism, soft electric folk and ambient music.

Some tracks, however, cannot hide his unexpected vigour in the guitar solos and in the acid sound of the electronic drums.

In addition the LP offers the re-issue of the mini-lp Greetings Three, a very important record for The Durutti Column and for Materiali Sonori.

Infact, the four tracks included on this record, released in 1985, dedicated to Italy, Tuscany and to new Italian friends, were the cornerstones of the future profitable collaboration. Along with Vini Reilly, play Bruce Mitchell (drums), John Metcalfe (iliolins).

All tracks recorded in Manchester, England.

composed by Vini Reilly - except"All That Love And Maths Can Do (V.Reilly-J.Metcalfe) and "Pete's Riff" with kind permission of Pete Townshend.
